Israel is 'dismantling Palestinian life' says Israeli human rights group

A prominent Israeli human rights organization, B'Tselem, has accused the Israeli government of carrying out a systematic "elimination project" in the West Bank to eradicate Palestinian life and establish a permanently Jewish region. In a recent report titled "The Elimination Project," B'Tselem's executive director, Yuli Novak, stated that Israeli policies in the area have entered a new phase, characterized by increased violence, land seizures, movement restrictions, economic strangulation, and social and political destruction.

Novak emphasized that this strategy aligns with settler colonialist objectives throughout history. The report, based on over 2,000 testimonies, describes the tragic experiences of Palestinian residents, including an 11-year-old boy named Khaled Bani Odeh, who witnessed the killing of his entire family by Israeli forces. Despite recent international sanctions against Israeli settlements, B'Tselem calls for more robust international action against Israel, warning that current measures only condemn the crimes while allowing the perpetrators to continue with impunity.

The report underscores the consensus among Israeli political leaders, including military officials, that maintaining control and Jewish supremacy in the West Bank is a top priority.
