iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max South Africa prices revealed

Apple has announced the launch prices for their new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models in South Africa. The iPhone 18 Pro will be available for R28,799, while the premium 18 Pro Max model starts at a higher price point of R31,299. Despite these impressive specifications, previous-generation iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models remain attractive value choices, with prices set at R24,999 and R27,999 respectively for the 256GB variants.

Pre-orders for the new iPhone lineup opened over the weekend at Apple's iStore, with contract packages also offered through major South African networks including Vodacom, MTN, Telkom, and Cell C. The most notable enhancements in the 18 Pro series include improved battery life and advanced camera hardware. The Pro Max model is said to deliver up to six extra hours of video playback compared to its predecessor. Both models can also charge to 50% in just 20 minutes.

On the camera front, the standout feature of the 18 Pro Max is its 48MP Fusion main sensor equipped with a new physical variable aperture. This upgrade enables users to have precise control over depth of field while simultaneously enhancing automatic exposure and overall focus accuracy. Interestingly, the standard iPhone 18 model remains absent from Apple's 2026 launch announcement, leaving budget-conscious consumers to await further developments.

However, anticipation is high for the eagerly anticipated iPhone Duo, a potential entry into the foldable smartphone market. Rumors suggest a price range approaching R50,000, although official pricing and release dates for South Africa have yet to be confirmed.
