Wong Lee Ping, the mother of Yap Shing Xuen, a 16-year-old girl who died after being stabbed at a school in Bandar Utama, vows to continue fighting for her daughter's justice, demanding the release of a 15-year-old suspect. Wong, a widow, remembered her daughter's disciplined, diligent, and loving nature, expressing that life for her daughter was just beginning.

Almost a year after her daughter's death, Wong is trying to carry on with life, working and living a normal life, but still feels the loss of significant aspects of her life. At the High Court in Shah Alam today, the adult male accused of killing Yap was released due to insufficient sanity at the time of the crime. However, Justice Adlin Abdul Majid ordered the young man to be placed in the Bahagia Ulu Kinta Hospital in Perak for a certain period under the Sultan of Selangor's discretion.

The teenage suspect was charged with stabbing the victim to death in the school's girls' toilet between 9.20 am and 9.35 am on October 14th last year. In January, the youth was deemed fit to stand trial and capable of defending himself after undergoing a psychiatric assessment at the Bahagia Ulu Kinta Hospital. The murder trial began on August 3rd, with the proceedings held in camera due to the involvement of a minor. On August 13th, the youth was ordered to defend himself.
