Hindu Temple Dubai issues Ganesha Chaturthi 2026 guidelines for Indian expat devotees in UAE

Dubai's Hindu Temple has released a set of rules for Indian expats who will be celebrating Ganesha Chaturthi in 2026. The temple aims to promote eco-friendly and safe festivities that consider neighbors' well-being. Both Hindu Temple Dubai and the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi will hold prayer sessions for the festival.

The temple encourages devotees to use only idols made from environmentally friendly materials. This approach allows for devotion while safeguarding the environment. Residents are reminded to follow necessary safety and security measures during celebrations.

The guidelines stress being considerate of neighbors and the surrounding community. Participants are asked to avoid processions outside their homes or on public streets. Additionally, drums, loudspeakers, or musical instruments that might disturb others should not be used.

After the pooja, the Ganesha idol should be immersed at home, and the water used can be reused for watering plants. Immersion in public places, ponds, backwaters, beaches, or the sea is strictly prohibited. The temple emphasizes that non-compliance with these guidelines and applicable UAE laws may result in legal action against individuals or groups, as deemed appropriate.
