Felda states that, in addition to FGV, the process of appointing independent audit firms is actively underway for several other subsidiaries within the group. KUALA LUMPUR: Felda Holdings Bhd (FGV) has appointed an independent audit firm to conduct a forensic audit on a subsidiary with corporate connections to the group. Felda asserts that the appointment of the independent audit firm is carried out in coordination with Prime Minister's advice, Malaysia Anti-Corruption Agency (SPRM) and Felda 2030 Special Purpose Committee.

This step is specifically taken to improve the governance and management of the Felda Group for the integrity of the agency, says the statement. According to them, Felda will continue to investigate the need for appointing independent audit firms to conduct professional and thorough forensic audits on Felda and all organizations under the Felda Group.

The forensic audit initiative against Felda started in 2019 with the appointment of Ernst & Young (EY) and the report of the audit was presented in Parliament through Felda's White Paper in 2020. "The recent audit execution reflects the continued commitment of Felda Group's management to strengthen the governance aspect, accountability, integrity and compliance at all operational levels.
