Emmys 2026 winners list: The TV shows that took top honours
The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards are here, celebrating the biggest shows, brightest stars and performances from this past year.
Jean Smart secured her fifth Primetime Emmy Award for her role in the comedy series Hacks, becoming the first performer to win the award for the best comedy actress for every season of a show's run. Noah Wyle took home his second Emmy for his portrayal of a traumatised emergency room doctor on The Pitt. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the only woman to come close to Smart's milestone, having won the best comedy actress award for six of the seven seasons of Veep.
Noah Wyle expressed feeling "overwhelming" to land his second consecutive Emmy for his role as Dr. Robby Robinavitch. The Pitt is considered a frontrunner for the top drama award. Rhea Seehorn, known for her role in the Apple TV series Pluribus, became the first winner for best drama actress, receiving praise from her fellow nominees.
Mariska Hargitay, star of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, hosted the ceremony, marking a departure from the tradition of having a comedian emcee.
