China denies supplying Iran satellite images of US Military base

The Wall Street Journal reported on allegations that Chinese entities provided Iran with satellite images of a US military base in Jordan following an Iranian missile attack that killed three American soldiers. US officials cited in the report did not name the Chinese entities, nor did they directly accuse the Chinese government of supplying the imagery.

In response to the report, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun dismissed the allegations, asserting that his country opposed suspicion without evidence. Trump downplayed the report, acknowledging that both nations spy on each other. The report emerged following Trump's warning against China selling weapons to Iran, and in May, the US imposed sanctions on three China-based satellite companies over alleged support for Iran's military operations.

Despite these tensions, Trump described his relationship with Xi Jinping as relatively stable, and China remains a significant economic partner for Iran.
