Business : DSR Taiko, PKNP Ink MoU To Authenticate, Certify Pahang Musang King

KUALA LUMPUR: DSR Taiko Bhd and the Pahang State Development Corporation (PKNP) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop a verified origin standard and digitize export traceability for Musang King durians from Pahang. The collaboration aims to establish special purpose vehicles (SPVs) to create an authentication, certification, and verification system for the state's Musang King durians.

The MoU covers areas such as origin authentication, labelling, traceability, certification, market development, and the promotion of the Pahang First brand. The initiative is part of the proposed Pahang Durian City (PDC), a strategic research and development hub for Musang King durian. The detailed terms of the SPVs, including shareholding, governance, investment, intellectual property, commercial, and operational arrangements, will be determined jointly by the parties in the future.

The MoU will remain in effect for six months from the signing date, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement. The MoU is not legally binding, except for confidentiality provisions, and neither party can claim against the other for non-performance. No directors, major shareholders, or connected persons of DSR Taiko have any direct or indirect interest in the MoU.
