Bali police investigate after Australian man and children found dead in home

Police in Bali are investigating after the bodies of an Australian man and his two children were found deceased in their bungalow in Kuta, a popular tourist destination. Damien John Shaw, aged 56, and his children, a six-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl, were discovered dead in their home on Sunday. Neighbours had become concerned after receiving a phone call from Shaw's wife, who had become worried upon speaking to her husband.

The woman was not present in Bali at the time. Reports suggest that police are considering the incident a suspected murder-suicide. However, the cause and manner of death have not been determined, and further examinations are pending. The wife reportedly contacted a neighbor after hearing one of her children crying during a phone conversation with her husband.

She was unable to reach her husband afterward. Neighbors, supported by other locals, forcibly entered the property without response. The victims were found inside the residence. Shaw was originally from Fremantle, Western Australia. The state premier, Roger Cook, expressed his condolences, stating that the news is a "very confronting situation" and that they hope to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic event as soon as possible.
