Army urges vigilante group to share timely intelligence

The Commander of the Presidential Guards Brigade, Brigadier General Adebisi Onasanya, has called on the Vigilante Group of Nigeria to provide timely and reliable intelligence to support security operations. Onasanya emphasized that grassroots intelligence from vigilante groups is vital for successful security efforts, explaining that military operations could be undermined without such information.

During a courtesy visit by the VGN's Commander-General, James Udoma, to the Presidential Guards Brigade headquarters in Abuja, Onasanya urged the group to share its intelligence to enhance security stability in the country. He also commended the vigilante group for its sacrifices and contributions to security operations, stating that the military is eager to strengthen collaboration with the VGN.

Onasanya assured that the military will protect the VGN members during future operations and stressed that the VGN's presence in all 774 local government areas provides access to valuable grassroots information for security agencies. The VGN's Commander-General, Udoma, expressed appreciation for the Brigade's role in protecting the President and ensuring security in the Federal Capital Territory, highlighting the group's potential to complement security agencies through its grassroots presence.
