Apple rolls out tvOS 27 with support for video podcasts, improved audio

Apple's latest iOS 27 update for iPhones brings a host of exciting new features to its Apple Wallet app. One of the standout additions is the ability to Create a Pass, which allows users to generate digital passes in a streamlined manner. There are three options available: Standard, Membership, and Event. This feature aims to consolidate all types of passes, both digital and physical, within the Wallet app.

Another notable addition is Split Bill with Apple Cash, which simplifies splitting bills with friends using the new Siri mode in the Camera app. By scanning a receipt, users can easily request payment from others or pay their share through the Wallet app. This feature offers a quick and convenient way to handle payments without the need for physical cash or separate apps.

Apple Card users will appreciate the new Recurring Transactions hub in iOS 27. Located behind the three-dot icon in the top-right corner of the Apple Card screen, this section provides a calendar view or a listed format of upcoming recurring transactions. This feature enables users to easily track subscriptions and anticipate upcoming charges, offering better financial management.

The upcoming iOS 27 version also promises an enhanced key experience for participating hotels and resorts. Guests will be able to seamlessly unlock their rooms and hotel amenities using their iPhone or Apple Watch. Furthermore, the enhanced key experience will provide access to additional details about trips, timely updates on booked activities, and access to services available during the stay, all in one place within the Apple Wallet app.

Lastly, iOS 27 introduces an Insights feature for Wallet users in select territories. This feature allows users to track spending across multiple cards, offering valuable insights into their financial activities. However, it's worth noting that this feature is currently not available in the United States, despite being present in some iOS 27 beta versions.
