Alan Jones told prominent athlete ‘I would like to be kissing you all night’ after alleged assault, trial hears

Complainant M recounted to the Sydney Downing Centre court that he froze in disbelief after 2GB broadcaster Alan Jones kissed him on the corner of his mouth during a public event. The athlete expressed shock and embarrassment, stating he did not respond to the intimate gesture. He testified that he was interviewed by Jones multiple times during his teenage years, developing a friendship that included visits to Jones's apartment where he was greeted with compliments and physical affection.

M alleged that Jones's initial compliments were flattering but gradually became uncomfortable, especially as they progressed beyond what he considered appropriate. He detailed instances of Jones's over-the-top praise and a visit to Jones's farm where M broke down crying due to financial difficulties. In response to the athlete's distress, Jones allegedly sent him a message suggesting he would enjoy kissing him all night.

M denied consenting to the kiss and stated that he felt violated by the intimate act in a public setting.
