Young Inventors programme turns ideas into solutions

The Qatar Scientific Club has announced the second phase of its Young Inventors programme, a national initiative designed to transform promising ideas into practical solutions for society. The programme, part of a broader initiative unveiled by the Ministry of Sports and Youth at Web Summit Qatar, targets individuals aged 15 to 30 who are passionate about science, technology, and innovation.

By offering specialist training, mentoring, experimentation, and practical application, the programme seeks to nurture young talent and convert ideas into innovations that address future needs.

Hessa al-Najjar, the programme's director, highlighted that this second edition is built upon the success of the inaugural cohort, which comprised 34 participants. The programme provides a platform for discovering exceptional young talent, refining skills, and translating ideas into tangible innovations. It includes workshops on creative thinking, idea development, and project planning, as well as feasibility-study models and consultations from experts in related fields.

Al-Najjar emphasized that innovation does not necessitate extensive resources; rather, it begins with a concept, enthusiasm, and the conviction that the idea can become reality. The programme supports Qatar National Vision 2030 by investing in human capital, enhancing national capabilities, and promoting creativity in scientific and technological domains. Its broader objective is to cultivate a culture of innovation and empower a generation to contribute solutions to Qatar's development.

Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing that the programme offers invaluable hands-on experience to innovate, refine ideas, and learn from specialists. They noted that the programme's practical environment aids in recognizing their abilities, developing viable projects, and exploring new avenues in science, technology, and innovation.

By expanding access to technical resources, expert guidance, and a supportive space for testing and refining concepts, the club aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to evolve from initial ideas to projects with substantial development potential. Through this collaborative effort, the Qatar Scientific Club seeks to foster a generation capable of contributing innovative solutions to Qatar's progress.
