Yemeni presidential council chief: Major battle course not set by frontline shifts

Yemen's Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, engaged in talks with military leaders and governors to evaluate the situation following intensified Houthi assaults. During these meetings, Al-Alimi received updates on frontline operations, combat readiness, logistical support, and measures taken to safeguard civilians and displaced persons from the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

Al-Alimi lauded the bravery of the armed forces, security personnel, and various military units nationwide, acknowledging the crucial role of the air force and drones in supporting ground troops and neutralizing threats while adhering to rules of engagement and legal standards. He detailed ongoing military actions in Marib, Al-Jawf, Taiz, Al-Bayda, and Al-Dhale, underscoring the restoration of state institutions, the end of the Houthi coup, and the fulfillment of Yemenis' yearnings for security, stability, and development as national priorities.

Al-Alimi stressed that the course of significant national battles is influenced by determination, unity, and the capacity to transform obstacles into opportunities, rather than being dictated by fleeting shifts in a single frontline. He reaffirmed the state's commitment to reclaiming sovereignty over all of Yemen's territory and affirmed that the Yemeni people and their armed forces remain resolute in the face of the Houthi militia's failures to learn from their previous coup against national consensus.

Al-Alimi commended local authorities and communities for their assistance in providing shelter and support to displaced families, emphasizing the spirit of national solidarity. He directed the government to further bolster these efforts and coordinate with humanitarian organizations to ensure the well-being and relief of displaced individuals.

The council chief stressed the significance of upholding constitutional duties to protect citizens and maintain services, instructing the government to intensify actions to ensure regular service delivery, salary payments, provision of basic necessities, and bolster humanitarian aid for displaced and affected individuals. Al-Alimi welcomed the outcomes of the Cabinet meeting and the steps taken to bolster government response and support the armed forces, stressing the necessity of transforming these decisions into immediate, practical actions.

The Yemeni president concluded by emphasizing that the strength of the state lies in the integration of its military, security, political, economic, and service sectors, affirming that safeguarding citizens' lives and supporting the armed forces are imperatives that cannot be postponed.
