Ukraine: „Kein Win-Win zwischen Kommunismus und Demokratie“ – US-Senator attackiert Kushner

Kyiv. Republican US Senator Thom Tillis voiced discontent with recent ceasefire negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, indirectly criticizing US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner during a visit to the Ukrainian capital. Tillis argued that a "Win-Win" outcome between Communism and Democracy is impossible, asserting that a "clear winner and a clear loser" are necessary in the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

He reiterated that the goal is to ensure that Putin fails in the conflict. The "Win-Win" statement was made by Kushner's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, in a press conference a week earlier, after meetings with the US negotiators in Moscow and Kyiv. The appearance of the two negotiators in Moscow raised concerns in Ukraine about the Trump administration's potential over-reliance on the Kremlin.

Tillis joined his fellow senators Alan Armstrong and John Curtis in Kyiv for the annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) security conference. Due to security reasons, reporting on the event was delayed until after the two-day conference concluded.
