Sifuna pledges Linda Mwananchi to allocate Affordable Houses to police if it forms govt

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has pledged to give affordable housing units to police officers if the Linda Mwananchi movement takes control of the government. He praised police for ensuring security during the movement's tour of Nairobi on Sunday. At a rally in Embakasi East, Sifuna stated that police officers had demonstrated their protective role from the moment they escorted the convoy from All Saints Cathedral.

He expressed his intention to provide housing solutions, following the party's decision to allocate housing levies to residents. Sifuna also criticized President William Ruto's Affordable Housing Programme, arguing that it would not solve the income issues faced by residents of informal settlements in Nairobi. He questioned the impact of the housing programme, pointing to Mathare, Mukuru Kwa Njenga and Kibera as examples of areas that remain informal despite the construction of affordable housing units.

The senator also criticised the Social Health Authority, complaining that the government continued to seek hospital harambees despite earlier assurances that such fundraisers would cease.
