'Shared vision transformed into a win-win collaboration': PM Modi on Day 2 Brics summit

New Delhi - On the second day of the Brics summit in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the growing strength, appeal, and unprecedented trust in the Brics bloc. Addressing the Brics session on Inclusive global governance and strengthening multilateralism, Modi emphasized that cooperation and support between the Brics members have transformed their shared vision into win-win cooperation.

He warmly welcomed all participants to the extended family of Brics, noting that today's event brings together different continents, cultures, and development journeys. Modi highlighted that the auditorium is a testament to the growing strength, appeal, and unprecedented trust in Brics.

Under India's BRICS presidency, four key pillars have been focused on: resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability. Modi expressed satisfaction that these efforts have led to transforming the shared vision into win-win cooperation. He acknowledged the increasing number of tensions worldwide, which have a negative and widespread impact on people's lives.

Examples such as pandemics, climate disasters, and supply chain disruptions demonstrate that crises no longer remain confined to a single region. Therefore, strengthening resilience within the BRICS group has been a priority. An integrated BRICS early warning system for preventing and responding to infectious diseases has been agreed upon, along with early warning data integration guidelines for disaster management.

The BRICS Logistics Supply Chain Cooperation Framework aims to make supply chains more reliable and resilient.

Earlier, PM Modi posed for a family photo with world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, at Bharat Mandapam. The summit's final leg will focus on the core pillars of India's 2026 BRICS chairship: resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability. The two-day summit is being hosted by India on September 12-13 under the chairship theme, "Building for resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability."
