Health Minister leads funeral prayers for helicopter crash victim Dr Ainul Baraah

KOTA BHARU, Sept 13 — Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad presided over the funeral prayers for Dr Ainul Baraah Kamarudin, a 33-year-old medical officer who lost his life in a helicopter crash. The solemn service, held at Al Karomah Mosque, drew a crowd of more than 1,000 people, comprising Ministry of Health officials, state government leaders, family, and friends.

Dr Dzulkefly's permission was granted to conduct the prayers, a gesture of respect for the deceased. In a statement, Dr Dzulkefly's father, Kamarudin Salleh, expressed his thanks to the Health Minister and the public for their ongoing prayers and support during this difficult time. Prior to the funeral, the late Dr Ainul Baraah's remains were transported from Miri, Sarawak, aboard a Royal Malaysian Air Force special aircraft that touched down at Sultan Ismail Petra Airport at 11.21 am.

The tragic incident occurred on Tuesday when a BO-105 helicopter operated by Layang-Layang Aerospace crashed near the Long Lellang STOLport runway, claiming the lives of all five individuals on board, including Dr Ainul Baraah, Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, medical assistant Alexson Adit Henry, and nurses Jessie Paya Jok and Debra Moset.
