Savannah Tigers began their Nigeria Premier Football League campaign flawlessly, securing a 2-0 victory over nine-time champions Enyimba at Pantami Stadium. Dominate United's Sadiq Rilwanu scored first in the 32nd minute, followed by Yusuf Fantami's second goal in the 76th minute to solidify their dominance. The result gave the newly promoted team nine points from the available five, with five goals scored and none conceded.
Doma United had already shown their potential with a 2-0 win over Sporting Lagos on the opening weekend and a 1-0 win away at Inter Lagos in their previous matches. Conversely, Enyimba still had no points after their opening campaign games, suffering a 2-1 loss away to Niger Tornadoes. Doma United's next match will be an away game against Kano Pillars.
