Russia Trying To Turn All Of Ukraine Into A Battlefield Amid Front-Line Failures — Sybiha

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has warned that Russia aims to transform the entire country into a battleground due to its inability to achieve objectives on the frontlines. In an interview with UATV English, Sybiha highlighted the systematic targeting of civilians, trains, and essential infrastructure by Russian forces. He urged international partners to bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities and to intensify pressure on Moscow.

A critical aspect of the strategy, according to Sybiha, is safeguarding Ukraine's airspace through the deployment of air defense assets, interceptors, and counter-drone systems. These measures are crucial in preventing Moscow from spreading the conflict to Ukrainian cities and transportation networks.

Sybiha also called on the European Union and NATO to respond robustly to a recent Russian strike near the Polish border. He pointed out that the attack on the Yahodyn checkpoint serves as a warning to the EU and NATO, urging them to take decisive action.

To further escalate pressure on Russia, Sybiha proposed a comprehensive set of sanctions, including a full trade embargo, a ban on EU entry, and intensified economic sanctions targeting Russia's military-industrial complex. This comes in the wake of Russia's unprecedented drone assault on Ukraine, where over 400 strike drones were launched in a single 12-hour period on September 12. Among these drones, 37 were jet-powered.
