Robots Protest in Poland Against the Uncontrolled Use of Artificial Intelligence

Around 30 robots gathered in Warsaw, Poland, to protest the unregulated use of artificial intelligence on September 7, 2026. The demonstration was organized by the civic initiative Democratism, which aimed to spark a public conversation about the societal transformation brought about by AI technology. The robots, including both humanoid and quadrupedal models, marched through the city outside the Ministry of Digital Affairs, waving flags and displaying slogans like "Defend jobs" and "It's time for rules."

One of the humanoid robots, named Agibot A3, delivered the central message, emphasizing that the development of AI should be accompanied by discussions about its consequences. The protest highlighted the need for stricter regulation of artificial intelligence, particularly as the technology becomes more advanced and capable of performing tasks previously done by humans.

Poland is currently implementing the European regulatory framework for AI, which sets different obligations based on the risk level of each system and includes oversight mechanisms to promote responsible use. The Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, acknowledged the challenges posed by AI and robotics, noting that the technology is no longer a distant possibility but a reality with tangible effects.

The debate surrounding AI and job displacement includes concerns about sectors like physical labor, administrative tasks, customer service, and information analysis, all of which may be affected by the expansion of artificial intelligence.
