KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 — The first day of Pokémon PokéXciting! celebrations at KLCC Park concluded with a spectacular drone show. Prior to the official 1pm start, fans had arrived early to admire Pokémon-themed decorations and engage in Pokémon Go activities. Virtual stamps, medals, and Pokémon HOME app collectibles were available to participants.

Attendees also had the chance to visit a Pokémon Pop-up store, where they could gather yellow sun visors featuring Pikachu ears. Despite the scorching midday temperature, massive crowds gathered in KLCC Park to watch the mascot parade, stage show, and engage in Pokémon Go gameplay. This led to long lines at restaurants and food stalls, including for the escalator leading to the park's entrance.

The Petronas Towers, which lit up in green to symbolize Bulbasaur, remained in sync with the performance, creating a visually appealing spectacle. Notably, KL Tower emerged as a surprising focal point for the drone show, illuminating with colorful lights that resonated with the on-screen action. The light show began with KL Tower displaying a series of vibrant colors, followed by Petronas Towers sync to a specific scene featuring a Grass-type Pokémon, Bulbasaur.

Pikachu also received attention during the light show, receiving its own glowing treatment. Despite the brief ten-minute duration, the drone show proved to be an engaging experience for both young children and tired adults alike. The event organizers' ability to maintain order and safety amidst the large crowd was commendable. The final drone scene featured the phrase "Jumpa lagi, KL" (See you again, Kuala Lumpur), along with a silhouette of Pikachu.

As this is the concluding day of the Pokémon celebrations in Malaysia, visitors are encouraged to visit the park to see the statues and attend the drone show tonight at the outdoor area near the mosque for an optimal view.
