PAS, PN tumpu 126 Parlimen berpotensi tinggi menjelang PRU16

PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN) officials are focusing their preparations on 126 parliamentary seats with high potential for the 2016 General Election (PRU16). According to Annuar Musa, the Chief Spokesperson for PN, 126 of these seats do not include the Sarawak constituency. Though it is not certain that PAS will compete in all 126 seats, PAS traditionally supports their allies who are contesting, he stated on Facebook.

Annuar added that the final decision on which seats PAS will contest will be left to the party's highest leadership. During the 2015 PRU, PN secured 74 parliamentary seats, while PAS claimed 43 out of these. In September of last year, PN's deputy leader, Amar Abdullah, reportedly said that PAS aims to win at least 80 parliamentary seats in PRU16 as part of their strategy to return to Putrajaya.

The party had set a target of securing at least 40 seats before PRU15 and ultimately achieved 43 out of 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat. The current federal government's term will end by December 2027, at which point a General Election will need to be called within 60 days.
