Ooredoo Money becomes first fintech company to join Single Window Platform

Doha, Qatar - The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has announced that Ooredoo Money has become the inaugural fintech entity to join the Single Window Platform. This partnership, formalized through a cooperation agreement, aims to broaden the platform's service offerings, enhance integration with the private sector, and improve services for the business community.

Mubarak Abdulrahman Al Khulaifi, Director of the Single Window Department at MOCI, and Mashail Abdulfattah, Country Head at Ooredoo Fintech Qatar, signed the agreement. With this collaboration, entities such as investors, business owners, and entrepreneurs will be able to apply for an Ooredoo Money Merchant Wallet during the Commercial Registration process, following an agreement with relevant regulations.

This development streamlines access to digital payment solutions and financial services that bolster business expansion, minimizing the need for manual transactions and paperwork. Consequently, the investor journey becomes more efficient, and administrative procedures are simplified, enhancing overall service delivery.

Emphasizing the importance of this agreement, Al Khulaifi stated that it is part of a series of cooperation deals between MOCI and financial institutions aimed at delivering top-tier services to the business sector, expediting procedures, and optimizing services via a unified digital platform. This move fortifies the Single Window Platform's position as the primary government hub for establishing and conducting business in Qatar, aligning with the nation's commitment to expanding strategic partnerships that simplify processes, boost investment competitiveness, and contribute to sustainable economic growth, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Mashail Abdulfattah, Country Head at Ooredoo Fintech Qatar, highlighted that expanding financial inclusion for businesses starts with facilitating their access to financial services. By integrating Ooredoo Money services into MOCI's Single Window Platform, the company can offer these services at the critical stage of business establishment, alleviating challenges faced by investors and entrepreneurs.

This integration fosters a more interconnected digital ecosystem that supports the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in Qatar.
