MOCI announces Ooredoo Money as first fintech company to join single window platform

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has announced that Ooredoo Money has become the first fintech company to join the Single Window Platform. This partnership was formalized through a cooperation agreement signed by the Ministry and Ooredoo Fintech Qatar. The agreement is part of MOCI's efforts to broaden the range of services available on the platform, enhance integration with the private sector, and improve services for the business community.

Under this new arrangement, investors, business owners, and entrepreneurs will be able to apply for an Ooredoo Money Merchant Wallet during the Commercial Registration issuance or renewal process via the Single Window Platform. This move is designed to simplify procedures, reduce reliance on manual transactions and paperwork, and streamline the investor journey.

Mubarak Abdulrahman Al Khulaifi, Director of the Single Window Department at MOCI, and Mashail Abdulfattah, Country Head at Ooredoo Fintech Qatar, signed the agreement. Al Khulaifi highlighted that this partnership aligns with the Ministry's strategy to deliver top-notch services to the business sector, facilitate procedures, and enhance the efficiency of government services through a unified, integrated digital platform.

He emphasized that it reinforces the Single Window Platform's role as the primary government hub for business establishment and operations in Qatar, underscoring the Ministry's commitment to expanding strategic partnerships that drive procedure simplification and transaction acceleration.

Mashail Abdulfattah, speaking on behalf of Ooredoo Fintech Qatar, noted that expanding financial inclusion for the business sector starts with making financial services more accessible. The integration of Ooredoo Money services into the Single Window Platform allows them to be offered at a crucial stage of the business establishment process, helping to alleviate challenges faced by investors and entrepreneurs while fostering a more interconnected digital ecosystem that supports the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in Qatar.
