Natural seasons, human seasons: An exploration by artist Meena Das Narayan

The Four Seasons Hotel at Embassy One in Bengaluru is hosting an exhibition titled "The 'Haveli' Collection: A Celebration of Womanhood Through Art." The exhibition, created by artist Meena Das Narayan, explores the connection between the changing colors and seasons of life and the distinct phases of a woman's life.

The exhibition runs thematically through the cyclical nature of nature, drawing parallels with the various stages of a woman's life. Landscaping, commissioned installations, and curated exhibitions are key elements that elevate the guest experience at the hotel, bringing the artwork to life and enhancing the storytelling aspect.

The monsoon rains, for instance, add a unique touch to the hotel's courtyards and gardens, serving as a perfect metaphor for the ongoing exhibition. The narrative of the exhibition is universal, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries. Each artwork featured in the exhibition is a testament to the diverse experiences that shape a woman's life.

The Four Seasons Bengaluru believes that art has the power to forge meaningful connections and provide a space for reflection and discovery. Biswajit Chakraborty, the General Manager of the hotel, emphasizes that the exhibition celebrates the many chapters, emotions, seasons, and experiences that shape a woman's life.

Meena Das Narayan, the artist behind the collection, was born in Delhi and studied in Pune. She later moved to Baghdad at the age of 13, where her father was an irrigation expert. The artist's experiences travelling and witnessing diverse cultures during her university days have made her more open-minded. After marrying and moving back to Delhi, Narayan pursued her passion for painting and writing, eventually establishing her own luxury magazine. She enjoys working in oils, appreciating the depth it allows, but also loves watercolours.
