Murder accused's 'victory march': SC asks Haryana police to produce him in court

The Supreme Court has directed Haryana Police to produce Vishal, a murder accused, before it following his victory procession after being granted bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The court expressed concern over the accused participating in the procession, threatening witnesses and allegedly causing an altercation with the family of the complainant, Rajbala.

Vishal was arrested and kept in custody for over three years after the alleged incident on Oct 27, 2022. Despite being denied bail four times, the court accepted his bail application the fifth time, considering that material witnesses had been examined and he had spent over three years in custody. The court noted that the non-bailable arrest warrant issued in August had not been executed and directed the superintendent of police, district Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, to ensure its execution and Vishal's production before the court on September 21, 2026.
