Migrant worker found dead in Perumbavoor, colleague in custody

A 21-year-old migrant worker named Muhammed Jahid was discovered dead at a plywood factory in Perumbavoor, Kerala, on Sunday, September 13. Jahid hailed from Muzaffarpur, Bihar. His 23-year-old male colleague, also a native of Muzaffarpur, has been apprehended by the Perumbavoor police in connection with the alleged murder. Police investigators suspect that the fatal attack was carried out due to personal enmity between Jahid and his colleague.

According to Inspector Manuraj G.P., Jahid was last seen sleeping at the factory in the early hours of Sunday after completing a night shift. His friends expressed concern when he did not return from the factory, prompting a search. Upon finding Jahid lying between plywood panels and a wall with injuries to his forehead, he was rushed to the taluk hospital but was pronounced dead en route.

Despite being treated at the hospital, Jahid's life could not be saved. The police took the suspect into custody following CCTV footage and are currently questioning him. A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Monday, September 14.
