Kwan, Bazzana help Guardians beat Twins 9-2, pull within 1/2 game of AL Central-leading White Sox

Cleveland Guardians defeated Minnesota Twins 9-2, moving within half a game of the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox. Steven Kwan led the offense with a game-tying third-inning homer, while Tanner Bibee limited Minnesota to just two runs over 6 2/3 innings, striking out seven. Travis Bazzana contributed three runs, including a crucial two-run homer in the sixth.

Bibee (6-15) had given up only two runs on four hits during his previous two September starts. Joe Ryan, Minnesota's All-Star pitcher, struggled again, giving up four runs on seven hits in four innings, dropping him to an 8.48 ERA since the All-Star break.
