Kremlin not ruling out return to Ukraine talks in October

Moscow has indicated that it is open to resuming negotiations with Ukraine and the United States to end the conflict, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The talks, which could occur in October, represent a potential resumption of efforts to resolve the war that has claimed over four years of violence and resulted in the highest civilian death toll since the early days of the conflict.

While previous negotiations have failed and US-led efforts have stalled due to various distractions, including the ongoing US-Israeli war in the Middle East with Iran, Peskov did not rule out the possibility of a three-way discussion. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has suggested a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the G20 summit in Miami in December, but Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov dismissed this as "impossible," emphasizing that any meeting must take place in Moscow.

Both sides have escalated long-range strikes, and Moscow remains unwilling to cede territorial demands, including areas not captured by Russia's troops.
