Kremlin not ruling out return to Ukraine talks in October

In recent months, Moscow and Kyiv have intensified their long-range strikes, resulting in the highest civilian death toll since the early days of the conflict. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Sunday that three-way talks involving Ukraine, the US, and Russia on ending Europe's worst conflict since World War II could occur in October.

Peskov stated that Moscow does not rule out the possibility of such negotiations, but emphasized that they are regarding the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, US negotiators are visiting Kyiv and Moscow, and US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have engaged in phone conversations to kick-start stalled efforts to end the war.

Previous negotiations have failed, with US-led efforts stalling due to Trump's focus on the US-Israeli war in the Middle East with Iran. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed willingness to meet Putin at the G20 summit in Miami in December, but Kremlin spokesman Peskov ruled it out as "impossible," insisting that a meeting could only take place in Moscow.

Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov noted on Sunday that there is currently no "coordinated package" for negotiations, with the main focus on resolving the territorial issue and addressing other questions.
