Kane edges Bayern past Elversberg in Bundesliga

Bayern Munich's Harry Kane scored his maiden goal of the Bundesliga season to help the defending champions secure a 2-1 victory over promoted Elversberg at their home stadium, the Waldstadion an der Kaiserlinde. Assistant goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was rested for the match, with Kane donning the captain's armband. The match began with Elversberg's teenage winger Lennart Karl putting his side ahead with a well-taken goal, only for Maurice Krattenmacher to level the score just after the hour mark with a curling effort.

Kane equalized for Bayern in the 72nd minute, capitalizing on a crowded penalty box to give his team the lead. Elversberg, making their first appearance in the Bundesliga, had started their campaign strong with two wins from two matches. The smallest town to ever play in the German top flight, Elversberg's players received a morale boost after their coach Vincent Wagner was cleared to take the field after winning an appeal against a red card.

RB Leipzig bounced back from their Champions League defeat with a 5-0 thrashing of Hamburg at home. Norwegian winger Antonio Nusa was the star of the show for Leipzig, scoring and setting up two goals, including one for Christopher Nkunku. Leipzig's victory widened the gap between them and the relegation zone, currently sitting in fifth place.
