India crowned Asia Cup champions, beat Korea 4-1

India secured their record sixth Asia Cup title by defeating Korea 4-1 in the final on Sunday. The match took place in Moqi, China. India's victory further solidified their status as the most successful team in the tournament's history. Their previous titles were won in 2004, 2008, 2015, 2023, and 2024.

The match began with Ajeet Yadav putting India ahead in the 9th minute following a deflection. Captain Anmol Ekka doubled the lead in the 13th minute. Despite Korea's efforts, India's defense held firm throughout the first quarter. In the 21st minute, Prabhdeep Singh added a third goal, sending the crowd into raptures.

Korea made a valiant attempt to regain the lead but were unable to break through India's compact and disciplined defense. After halftime, India maintained their attacking momentum, earning two more penalty corners. Ashu Maurya extended India's lead to 4-0 in the 50th minute. Korea equalized with a penalty stroke in the 54th minute, administered by Captain Lee Minhyeok.
