How to Get Discounted Petrol for Bikes, Rickshaws, Qingis and Cars

The Ministry of Information Technology has unveiled the registration process for the Prime Minister’s Special Petrol Relief Scheme, providing eligible citizens with a 100 rupee discount per liter of petrol. In collaboration with NADRA, telecom companies and provincial departments, the ministry has set up an automated digital system to handle registrations and verifications.

Motorcycle and Qingqi rickshaw owners will receive the discounted petrol for a maximum of 20 liters per month, whereas owners of vehicles with engines up to 800cc can avail of up to 30 liters per month. The authorities will use an automated system linked to provincial transport and excise departments to validate vehicles.

To register, citizens are required to send an SMS from a SIM registered under their name, including their CNIC number, vehicle number, provincial code, and registration date. Upon successful registration, applicants will get a confirmation message on their mobile phones. Before visiting a petrol pump, registered citizens need to send "TOK" to 9771. They can then display the received token at the petrol station to obtain the discounted petrol.

Petrol supplies will start in Islamabad between Monday and Tuesday midnight, while the rest of the country will begin distribution between Wednesday and Thursday midnight.
