Gov Adeleke orders arrests after reported killing of associate, Ajagungbade

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has mandated the immediate arrest of suspects implicated in the alleged killing of one of his close associates, Olamilekan Ajagungbade, commonly known as Emir Ajagungbade. The incident reportedly occurred in Ife, Osun State on Sunday. According to preliminary information, Ajagungbade was shot during an altercation linked to a dispute over the leadership of a motor park in Ife.

Described as a known associate of the governor and a member of the Accord, Ajagungbade's death left the governor concerned about maintaining law and order. In response, Adeleke directed the Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Zungura, to arrest all those believed to be responsible for the incident. The governor's directive was conveyed through a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

The statement emphasized that the killing was allegedly caused by a struggle for control at a motor park, and ordered the warring factions to vacate the affected parks immediately. Adeleke further directed security agencies to restore normalcy across the state and called on residents to remain calm. In addition to the arrests, the governor announced the immediate reintroduction of the Park Management System, with the state soon issuing an executive order to regulate motor park and garage management.
