‘Crystal Lake’ Trailer Sends Linda Cardellini’s Pam Voorhees Over the Edge

Linda Cardellini's unhinged side shines through in the full trailer for Peacock's Crystal Lake, a prequel to the iconic Friday the 13th franchise. The show, produced by A24, has been in development for several years, eventually settling on the current nearly ready-to-air incarnation. While opinions on the trailer's suggestion of Pamela Voorhees and Jason's origins being the result of Mad Science may vary, there's no denying the star power of Cardellini as Pamela.

In the trailer, Cardellini plays the lunch lady at the infamous summer camp, before her life takes a sinister turn. After a traumatic event, she transforms into a town wacko, ready to unleash her machete-armed vengeance. Presented with a 70s aesthetic, Crystal Lake stays true to the existing Friday mythology without revealing too much about how the show will weave itself into the franchise's lore.

With showrunner Brad Caleb Kane (IT: Welcome To Derry) at the helm, the series is set to premiere on October 15, featuring co-stars William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.
