Caden Buhr’s field goal with 15 seconds left lifts No. 21 Iowa over Iowa State, 16-13

Iowa City, Iowa (AP) — Caden Buhr secured a 42-yard field goal with 15 seconds remaining, propelling No. 21 Iowa to a 16-13 victory over Iowa State on Saturday night. Iowa State had taken a 10-0 lead midway through the second quarter, before Iowa tied the game with a 1-yard touchdown run by Hank Brown and a 45-yard field goal from Buhr.

Despite Iowa's struggles to advance the ball against Iowa State, the Hawkeyes emerged victorious. The last nine contests between these in-state rivals have been decided by 10 points or fewer, with four of the last five decided by a field goal or less. Iowa State, without any starters from last year following the arrival of new coach Jimmy Rogers, struggled to get Iowa's offense in sync. Iowa State will face Bowling Green in their next game next Saturday.
