Awqaf ministry sends delegation to Burundi

The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has dispatched a delegation to Burundi for the purpose of engaging in religious and societal initiatives. This delegation aims to strengthen international Islamic partnerships and support various endeavors focused on human development, the advancement of Islamic values, and community development.

The delegation consists of three key members: Hassan Abdul Salam al-Emadi, who leads the Authorship and Translation Section at the Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre; Mohammed Saleh al-Badr, head of the Studies Section at the General Directorate of Endowments; and Mohammed Jaber al-Buraidi al-Marri, a senior Sharia expert at the Department of Dawah and Religious Guidance.

Upon arrival, the delegation held meetings with leaders of the Burundi Islamic Association and officials from Burundi's ministry of foreign affairs, regional integration, and development co-operation. During these discussions, they explored avenues for bilateral cooperation and shared expertise in areas such as Dawah (Islamic propagation), education, and endowment. The Awqaf delegation also discussed opportunities to serve the Muslim community and promote religious and educational avenues in Burundi.

In addition to meetings and discussions, the delegation participated in the national Holy Qur'an contest, organized by Burundi's Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs. The event took place at Omuko Stadium in Muyinga, where participants competed to memorize portions of the Qur'an, both in full and in partial sections.

The Awqaf Ministry's delegation is part of its broader mission to promote sound Islamic principles, support Sharia, Qur'anic education, endowment, and development-focused initiatives, while fostering international partnerships dedicated to serving Islamic communities worldwide.
