Aduku says Falconets ready to conquer

Head coach Moses Aduku has expressed confidence that Nigeria's Falconets will perform at their best when they face New Caledonia in the final Group F match at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The Falconets currently sit in third place with one point, following a 2-0 loss to Spain and a 0-0 draw with China. To advance to the Round of 16, Nigeria must secure a convincing victory against New Caledonia, regardless of Spain and China's outcome.

Aduku reassured his team not to underestimate their opponents, despite New Caledonia's recent results, and highlighted that the squad is in high spirits with no injury concerns. The coach emphasized the importance of scoring goals in the upcoming match, stating that his team cannot afford to return home without achieving this objective.

New Caledonia, who are debutants in the tournament and currently bottom of the group with no points, plan to adopt a more attacking approach in their quest for their first goal of the competition. Their coach, Leon Waitronyie, expressed the need to play higher up the pitch in order to score. As of now, Spain leads Group F with six points, followed by China with four points, while Nigeria still has a chance to progress as runners-up or through one of the four best third-place spots across the six groups, depending on results in other matches.
