2 fire incidents reported in Delhi, 6 injured after jumping from building in panic

On Sunday, two fire incidents occurred in Delhi, resulting in six injuries after panicked individuals jumped from a building. This blaze erupted at a factory-cum-godown in Swaroop Nagar, while the adjacent factory remained unharmed. The fire affected the ground and first floors of the structure, which manufactured judo dresses and boxing gloves.

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) reported that the flames were fueled by rexine waste and cotton webbing stored in the godown. The total area of the building spanned approximately 200 square yards, including a basement, ground floor, first floor, and a tin shed on the second floor. Firefighters managed to control the fires by 1:50 pm, completely extinguishing them by the end of the day.

Five of the injured individuals were transported to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, while another person who jumped from the adjacent building sustained a right leg injury and was taken to Government Hospital, Burari. Despite the traumatic event, all the injured were reported to be out of danger. Later in the afternoon, another fire incident unfolded at a godown near Dharamshila Hospital in east Delhi.

Eleven fire tenders were dispatched to the scene, but no injuries were reported. Firefighters and cooling operations were ongoing to control the blaze at this location.
