Vote for the best football performance during Week 4 Marion-area play

The week of football in the Marion area came to an end with Week 4 games on September 11. Within the Marion area, several impressive performances were noteworthy. To recognize the standout performances, the Marion Star has launched a poll for fans to vote for their favorite nominee to receive the title of Player of Week 4. The voting period will close at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15. Fans are encouraged to cast their votes as frequently as permitted.

Here are the nominees for the Marion Star Football Player of Week 4 Poll:

1. Pleasant's Ryan Conway scored three touchdowns in the first half and accumulated 104 yards on seven carries. He also added seven tackles on defense, leading his team to a victory over River Valley.

2. River Valley's Owen Collins contributed to a defeat by scoring a touchdown and throwing another touchdown pass.

3. Marion Harding's Jaden Jordan secured a game-winning 11-yard touchdown catch with just 12 seconds remaining in a game against Highland.

4. Highland's Robby Schmidt amassed 120 yards and scored three touchdowns on 24 carries, but it was not enough to overcome Marion Harding.

5. Northmor's Tanner Miley rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, along with passing for 131 yards on 8 of 15 completions, securing a win over Cardington-Lincoln.

6. Mount Gilead's Boe Sayers rushed for 190 yards on 25 carries and scored four touchdowns, leading his team to a win over Loudonville.

7. Elgin's Drew Brown recorded 10 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack in a defeat to Woodmore.
