Umno gagal bila kritik kerajaan sendiri, kata pemimpin Amanah

Pakihaj Amanah Faiz Fadzil, Umno's Deputy Secretary-General, has criticized the party's leadership for failing to criticize the government when it should, during the Umno General Assembly (PAU) today. Zahid Hamidi, Umno's President, who was also the Deputy Prime Minister when speaking at the PAU, openly criticized the management of the Anwar Ibrahim-led government.

Faiz stressed that if Umno could do better, it would indicate that he himself was not helping the government. He stated that the Anwar government's success in various aspects, including foreign direct investment, ringgit performance, economic growth, and corruption perception index (CPI), should be evaluated collectively as the government was formed through a coalition of parties, including Umno.

Faiz emphasized that people can make judgments based on the government's performance, and data cannot be misleading. He provided an example of the government's success in repaying the GST of RM19 billion, which was initially introduced by the BN government, to the current situation where the ringgit prices have plummeted. Faiz also warned Umno not to make statements that could undermine the stability of the government if they truly wanted to maintain political stability until the next general election.

Regarding the current political developments, Faiz said that the PH needs to be prepared for the possibility of not working with BN in the upcoming general election, as two more general elections (PRN) are a wake-up call for the PH to strengthen its diversity and not rely on cooperation with others. In his final remarks during the PAU, Zahid, who also served as the Deputy Prime Minister, referred to certain parties using terms like "sufficient enough" and "for our own luck."
