Shortly before Jews across the globe observed Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, on Friday night, actress Gal Gadot made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote her latest film, The Runner, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video on September 2. The movie features Gadot as a woman who runs around London in pursuit of her kidnapped son, who is being blackmailed by a criminal.

During the interview, Kimmel wished Gadot a happy holiday and inquired about the traditional Rosh Hashanah dish, gefilte fish. Gadot expressed her fondness for the dish, specifically for the horseradish that accompanies it, and mentioned that she and her family also consume apples and honey or honey cake.

The conversation then turned to the shofar, a ram's horn traditionally blown in synagogues during the Rosh Hashanah holiday ritual. Gadot brought two shofars with her, one straight and the other twisted. She played the straight one for Kimmel, who managed to produce a decent sound, while the twisted one was more challenging to play.

Gadot explained the significance of the shofar blowing, stating that it is meant to awaken the soul for a good year ahead. Kimmel playfully attempted to play the shofar as well, and they both ended up laughing as they improvised together before bidding each other a happy new year.
