Show discipline, calling Atiku names not an argument – Shaibu slams Presidency

Phrank Shaibu, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, criticized the Presidency for referring to Atiku as a "veteran presidential candidate." President Bola Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made the comment after Dangote Refinery warned that changes to fuel price control and subsidy restoration would impact refining margins.

Shaibu responded on X, stating that Onanuga's remark was not an argument. He emphasized that "veteran presidential candidate" was merely a result of the argument having ended. Shaibu noted that he had already addressed the issue in a previous response and asked Onanuga to read that reply before repeating the same confusion.

Shaibu rebuked the Presidency for using name-calling, asserting that disagreeing with Atiku is acceptable. He argued that the problem lies with the quality of argument coming from the Presidential Villa, not Atiku's policies. Shaibu reiterated his earlier response and expressed no intention of reiterating it.
