Scuba diving tourist, 65, drowns after falling off boat

In a tragic incident off the coast of Tioman Island, an Indian tourist named Sabiya Shiek lost her life after falling into the sea during a scuba diving excursion. The 65-year-old woman participated in a discovery dive with six family members, joined by a team of experienced diving instructors. Following the session, Sabiya expressed her desire to return to the boat, which she did after removing her diving gear.

However, while climbing the ladder to re-board the vessel, Sabiya is believed to have slipped and fell back into the water. Divers discovered her approximately 15 minutes later, unconscious and lying on the sandy seabed near the dive site. Despite immediate medical attention, Sabiya was pronounced dead at the nearby health clinic.
