Rojales in brief: Watercolour exhibition and traditional Ribbon Race bring autumn activities

Rojales is merging art and tradition this autumn with the opening of a major watercolour exhibition and the traditional Ribbon Race. The events provide residents and visitors with unique ways to enjoy the municipality. The exhibition, featuring 50 watercolours by artist Gonzalo de Amarante Costa, is currently on display at the Sala Mengolero in the Cuevas del Rodeo.

The show opened on September 5 and will run until September 27. The Cuevas del Rodeo, a collection of traditional cave houses, are known for hosting local artists and cultural events. Meanwhile, the traditional Ribbon Race will be held at Malecon del Soto on October 9. Starting at 6:30 PM, the event is open to all ages and requires balancing and accuracy as participants cycle beneath ribbons and try to collect one. Registration is open until October 2 and free ribbons will be provided to participants.
