Policeman among 2 booked for harassing female constable in KP's Haripur

HARIPUR: The police have charged two individuals, comprising a police constable, with harassing a female police constable, according to Khanpur police reports on Friday. The case centers around woman constable Amina Kosar, a local resident who had been receiving unwanted text messages and phone calls from suspect Ali Nisar for several days.

Kosar maintained that Nisar had even followed her home, threatening her with dire consequences if she did not pay money. Her real sister's husband, Afzal, a fellow police constable assigned to Abbottabad, allegedly facilitated Nisar's contact with her by sharing her number without consent.

Kosar contended that both Nisar and Afzal had not only approached her family with defamatory accusations but also allegedly assaulted her character. She requested her department to undertake legal proceedings against the accused and provide security to both her and the families of the accused. Following her complaint, the Khanpur police lodged a criminal case against Ali Nisar under Sections 28-D of the Telegraph Act, as well as Sections 506 and 509 of the Penal Code, which pertain to criminal intimidation and insulting a person's modesty through words, gestures, sounds, or physical conduct, respectively. Nisar has been apprehended, while Afzal remains at large, as per the Khanpur police.
