PH, PN or solo, Wan Rosdy believes BN can win in Pahang

Umno vice-president Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail is confident that Barisan Nasional (BN) can secure a victory in Pahang, regardless of whether the coalition partners with Pakatan Harapan (PH), Perikatan Nasional (PN), or contests the election alone. After conducting three studies, Wan Rosdy stated that BN could comfortably win if they form an alliance with PN.

However, he cautioned that a partnership with PH could result in a loss of 15% of Malay votes. Wan Rosdy, also serving as Pahang's Menteri Besar, emphasized that Pahang remains the only state where Umno's governing presence has remained uninterrupted. In the 2022 general election, BN and PN each won 17 state seats, while PH secured eight.

Subsequently, BN allied with PH to form the Pahang government, and Wan Rosdy assumed the role of Menteri Besar for his second term. He previously expressed that the BN-PH coalition in Pahang should persist until the next general election. Wan Rosdy clarified that these decisions on cooperation with other coalitions would ultimately be determined by Umno's central leadership.
