Moreira leads AC Milan fightback in Lazio draw

AC Milan's Diego Moreira scored twice as the Italian side staged a dramatic comeback to secure a 2-2 draw with top-of-the-table Lazio in their early season Serie A showdown. The Belgian winger came on as a substitute at the interval and netted twice to bail out a Milan side that had opened the season with three successive victories.

Lazio's Matteo Cancellieri and Tijjani Noslin had put the hosts ahead in the first half, but after surrendering their perfect record, Milan staged a remarkable turnaround. Amorim's substitutions, including Moreira and US playmaker Christian Pulisic, paid dividends after the break as the pace-setter equalised in the 65th minute. A nervy finish saw neither team manage a winning goal, with both sides now having eight points.

Cagliari climbed to fourth with a 2-1 victory at Atalanta, courtesy of a penalty from Daniel Maldini. Meanwhile, Yael Trepy of Cagliari was welcomed back from a coma after nearly drowning, while Genoa secured their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw against Frosinone. Inter Milan face Udinese on Monday, with Roma taking on Torino and Como hosting Parma.
