In India, Anwar belts out Hindi classic on friendship and betrayal

In India, PKR vice-president R Ramanan shared a cryptic message about songs with a difference on social media, featuring a video clip of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim singing a classic Hindi song about friendship and betrayal. The message read, “Sometimes, we already know, but we chose to remain quiet.” In the video, Anwar is seen singing the Hindi song Dost Dost Na Raha, which delves into themes of betrayal, lost friendship, broken love, and the collapse of trust.

Ramanan added, “some songs hit different when you know the story.” Earlier this week, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi exchanged snide remarks with Anwar, referring to him as “guru” and suggesting that Umno could do better than the PKR president. However, Anwar's office denied any significant strain in their relationship, stating that their ties remained cordial.

Last month, former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin claimed trust between Anwar and Zahid had hit its lowest point due to Barisan Nasional’s decision to join forces with Perikatan Nasional for the Negeri Sembilan election, though Anwar dismissed such claims as a personal view.
